Description

A homemade version of Taco Bell’s classic Mexican Pizza, featuring crispy tortillas layered with refried beans, seasoned meat, and melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • Corn or Flour Tortillas
  • Refried Beans
  • Seasoned Taco Meat
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Taco Toppings: fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes, sliced black olives, zesty salsa

Instructions

  1. Fry your tortillas: In a frying pan, heat oil over medium heat. Fry each tortilla until golden and crispy, about 1-2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  2. Layer the beans: Take one crispy tortilla and spread a generous layer of warm refried beans over the top.
  3. Add the meat and cheese: On top of the beans, layer your seasoned taco meat, followed by a blend of cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  4. Stack it: Place another fried tortilla over the cheese and repeat the process: another layer of refried beans, seasoned meat, and cheese.
  5. Bake to perfection: Transfer your stacked creation to a baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Garnish and serve: Just before serving, garnish with fresh toppings like crisp lettuce, juicy diced tomatoes, sliced olives, and zesty salsa.

Notes

You can prepare components ahead of time and assemble just before baking for convenience. Air fryers can be used as a healthier alternative for frying tortillas.
