- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tsp Italian herbs
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat, letting it warm until shimmering.
- Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until the onion turns translucent and fragrant, about 2–3 minutes.
- Brown the beef, breaking it apart, until fully cooked, about 4–5 minutes.
- Add the Italian herbs and tomato sauce, mixing well.
- Toss in the orzo and pour the beef broth over the top, stirring to combine.
- Simmer on low, covered, for 10-15 minutes or until the orzo is tender.
- Season with salt and pepper as needed and serve warm.
Notes
Can be made a day ahead and reheated. Feel free to customize with vegetables or different herbs.
