Description

A comforting one-pot meal featuring ground beef and orzo, bursting with savory flavors and easy to prepare for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat, letting it warm until shimmering.
  2. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until the onion turns translucent and fragrant, about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Brown the beef, breaking it apart, until fully cooked, about 4–5 minutes.
  4. Add the Italian herbs and tomato sauce, mixing well.
  5. Toss in the orzo and pour the beef broth over the top, stirring to combine.
  6. Simmer on low, covered, for 10-15 minutes or until the orzo is tender.
  7. Season with salt and pepper as needed and serve warm.

Notes

Can be made a day ahead and reheated. Feel free to customize with vegetables or different herbs.
