- 1 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- Oil for frying
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the coating: In a bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika until fully integrated. In another vessel, pour the buttermilk.
- Coat the chicken: Dip each chicken breast into the buttermilk, then transfer it to the flour mixture, pressing to coat.
- Heat the oil: In a skillet or Dutch oven, pour enough oil to be about half an inch deep and heat to medium until shimmering.
- Fry until golden: Carefully lay the chicken in the oil, frying for 5 to 7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Prepare the hot honey sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey and hot sauce, stirring until blended.
- Drizzle and serve: Once chicken is golden, drizzle the hot honey sauce over it and serve with rice.
