Description

Deliciously fluffy Vanilla French Beignets, perfect for any occasion, lightly dusted with powdered sugar.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another large bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Gradually combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Heat your chosen oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Using a spoon or small cookie scoop, drop dough into the hot oil.
  6. Fry the beignets for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove the beignets and drain on paper towels.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
