Description

Delicious and beautifully crafted macarons perfect for celebrating Valentine’s Day.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring
  • Buttercream or ganache for filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a bowl, sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy, then add cream of tartar and gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold in the almond flour mixture and vanilla extract, then add red food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  5. Pipe the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Let the macarons sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, then let cool completely.
  8. Fill with buttercream or ganache and sandwich together.
