Description

Green Bean Casserole Supreme is a creamy, savory dish made with fresh green beans, a rich mushroom sauce, and topped with crispy fried onions, perfect for family gatherings and holiday meals.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the blanched green beans and half of the cheddar cheese to the mixture, stirring until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and half of the crispy fried onions.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining fried onions on top.
  9. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, ensure the cream of mushroom soup is meat-free.
  • Feel free to add cooked bacon or ham for extra flavor.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
