Description

Indulge in these delightful Easy Caramel Cookie Bars with a buttery cookie base and a rich, gooey caramel center, topped with a sprinkle of sea salt.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 package soft caramel candies (unwrap individually)
  • 0.25 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 tsp sea salt (for sprinkling on top)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using a whisk until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Gradually sift in the all-purpose flour, mixing until just combined.
  4. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the unwrapped caramel candies and heavy cream. Stir frequently until smooth.
  5. Reserve about 1 cup of cookie dough for the topping. Press the remaining dough into the lined baking pan.
  6. Gently pour the warm caramel mixture over the cookie base, spreading it evenly.
  7. Crumble the reserved cookie dough over the caramel layer. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for at least an hour before cutting into squares.

Notes
