Description

Chocolate Peppermint Truffles are a delightful combination of rich chocolate and refreshing peppermint, perfect for holiday treats or special occasions.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 cup crushed peppermint candies
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  2. Remove from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in the peppermint extract and mix well.
  4. Refrigerate the mixture for about 2 hours, or until firm.
  5. Once firm, scoop out small portions and roll them into balls.
  6. Roll the truffles in crushed peppermint candies or cocoa powder to coat.
  7. Place the truffles on a baking sheet and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a stronger peppermint flavor, increase the amount of peppermint extract.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • These truffles can also be dipped in melted chocolate for an extra layer of richness.
