Ingredients

  • 2 Teaspoons granulated sugar (coarse, such as turbinado or demerara)
  • 2 Teaspoons chile-lime seasoning (such as Tajín Clásico Seasoning)
  • 1 Wedge lime (or lime juice)
  • 4 Ounces frozen mango chunks (about 1 cup)
  • 2 Ounces mango-flavored orange juice (such as Simply Orange Juice with Mango)
  • 2 Ounces silver tequila (such as Olmeca Altos Plata Tequila)
  • ½ Ounce agave nectar (such as Tres Agaves Organic Agave Nectar)
  • 3 Tablespoons chamoy (such as Tajín Chamoy Mild Sauce)
  • Mango wedges (sweetened and dried, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. On a small plate, combine coarse sugar and chile-lime seasoning.
  2. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your shot glasses to ensure the sugar mixture adheres.
  3. Dip each glass into the Tajín-sugar mix until well-coated.
  4. Add frozen mango chunks, mango-flavored orange juice, tequila, agave nectar, chamoy, and a squeeze of fresh lime juice to a blender.
  5. Blend until the mixture becomes ultra-smooth.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary, adding more agave nectar if desired.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared shot glasses.
  8. Garnish with a sweetened mango wedge on the edge of each glass.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare the Tajín-sugar rim and blend the shots up to a day in advance. Keep the mixture refrigerated until ready to serve.
