A delicious and savory broth featuring caramelised soy chicken and garlic, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients

- 4 chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger to create a marinade.
- Add chicken thighs to the marinade and let sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Remove chicken from marinade and sear in the pot until browned on both sides.
- Add chicken broth to the pot and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 20-25 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
- Remove chicken, shred it, and return it to the pot.
- Season with salt and pepper, and garnish with green onions before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier broth, add red pepper flakes.
- Can substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts if preferred.
- Serve with rice or noodles for a complete meal.
