Description

A delicious and savory broth featuring caramelised soy chicken and garlic, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger to create a marinade.
  2. Add chicken thighs to the marinade and let sit for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade and sear in the pot until browned on both sides.
  5. Add chicken broth to the pot and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and let simmer for 20-25 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
  7. Remove chicken, shred it, and return it to the pot.
  8. Season with salt and pepper, and garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier broth, add red pepper flakes.
  • Can substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts if preferred.
  • Serve with rice or noodles for a complete meal.
