Description

Caramel Pecan Sticky Buns are a deliciously sweet breakfast treat, featuring a soft, fluffy dough topped with a rich caramel sauce and crunchy pecans.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients; mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter; cook until melted and smooth.
  7. Pour the caramel mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
  8. Roll out the dough, spread with butter, and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  9. Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices; place in the baking dish over the caramel.
  10. Let the buns rise for another 30 minutes, then bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before inverting onto a serving platter.
