- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients; mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter; cook until melted and smooth.
- Pour the caramel mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
- Roll out the dough, spread with butter, and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices; place in the baking dish over the caramel.
- Let the buns rise for another 30 minutes, then bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
- Allow to cool slightly before inverting onto a serving platter.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the dough.
- These buns are best served warm.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
