Description

Delight in these soft, chewy snickerdoodles, coated in a cinnamon-sugar mix that creates the perfect balance of sweetness and spice.


Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar, divided
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and 1 ½ cups of white sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until the dough comes together.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the remaining ½ cup of sugar with cinnamon.
  7. Shape dough into 1¾-inch balls, rolling them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Place the cookies on an ungreased baking sheet, spaced about 3 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 9-10 minutes; the edges should be set when done.
  10. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

You can prepare the dough in advance and freeze the shaped balls for later baking.
