Ingredients

- 4 large croissants
- 8 slices of ham
- 8 slices of cheese (Swiss and cheddar)
- 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon of honey (optional)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice each croissant in half lengthwise, making sure not to separate completely.
- Spread Dijon mustard on the inside of each croissant, adding honey if preferred.
- Layer the ham and cheese inside each croissant evenly.
- Close the croissants and place them on a lined baking sheet, cut side up.
- Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush over the tops of each croissant.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
For make-ahead options, prepare croissants up to the baking step, cover, and refrigerate. Bake fresh in the morning. Adjust cheese and meats to customize flavors.
