Description

A delicious and moist apple upside-down cake that is perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until smooth.
  3. Add the sliced apples and cinnamon, cooking until the apples are slightly softened.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into a greased cake pan.
  5. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. In another bowl, cream together granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
  7. Add vanilla extract and milk to the egg mixture, then gradually add the dry ingredients.
  8. Pour the batter over the apples in the cake pan.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
