- 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until smooth.
- Add the sliced apples and cinnamon, cooking until the apples are slightly softened.
- Pour the apple mixture into a greased cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract and milk to the egg mixture, then gradually add the dry ingredients.
- Pour the batter over the apples in the cake pan.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
