Description

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and place it on a baking sheet.
  3. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and add the sugar, stirring until it turns golden brown.
  4. Add the sliced apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice to the skillet, cooking until the apples are tender.
  5. Pour the caramelized apple mixture onto the center of the puff pastry, leaving a border around the edges.
  6. Fold the edges of the pastry over the apples, pleating as necessary.
  7. Brush the edges with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
